Renaissance Faire Day – Ye Olde Checklist Update #11

Going to a festival was on big girl’s summer checklist. Thankfully, there are a ton of festivals to go to during the summer months. And we go to many. The weekend of the 4th of July we went to Ribfest in Naperville. If you’ve gone before, you know that the barbeque is delicious and the kid’s area is outstanding (and free!!!!!). However, big girl informed me that her favorite festival is the Renaissance Faire because there are knights. In fact, she informed me after watching the jousting this year that she wants to be a knight when she grows up. 🙂

Corn on the cob, the queen, garlic mushrooms (Ryan’s favorite), horses, knights, princesses, fairies, and lots of thrones to sit on. It’s so much fun! This year, baby girl was able to pick out her own flower crown to wear. Big girl got one when she was 2 1/2 and has worn it each year when we go to the faire. Baby girl was so excited to have one just like her big sister.

Summer checklist thus far:

  • Go to the library.
  • Go to the pool.
  • Make banana pudding.
  • Ride the train at the mall.
  • Go to the playground.

  1. Fun, fun, fun! Do you remember going to the Faire at Bishop Hill? The pasty was kind of yucky, but the jousting was cool.
