I know I’m not the only one who believes that running in the fall is the best. It’s the time of year when I actually “enjoy” running. (Ok. I’m never going to be a person who loves running. I love the after of running, not the during. But, it’s better in the fall.) I find that on longer runs, I get bored really easily. This was a real problem during the half-marathon. But, there is so much to look at during the fall that keeps me a bit more focused. Beautiful leaves. Cooling winds. Yep. So much better than being a sweaty mess during the summer. 🙂
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already seen these pictures. (So, sorry.) But, going for a fall run among the trees is just so incredibly peaceful! Even if you are surrounded by 100s of other runners during a 5k. 🙂
(Once again, this had been sitting in my drafts folder…..this school year…..gee whiz…. Hopefully, I’ll get back on track with my blogging in the next coming weeks….hopefully…..)
It’s hard to believe that a year ago, I was prepping for my first 5K. And a month ago, I completed my first half-marathon!
It was not easy and there were a couple times in which I thought of giving up but I pushed through and completed it.
One of the best parts was that the run was just beautiful!
Once more, a few weeks ago, (apparently, this had just been sitting in my drafts – this school year is just exhausting…..) we had ice cream for dinner. I think that “get ice cream” has definitely been taken care of on the checklist. This time, we checked out another ice cream shop that we hadn’t been to before. This time we went to Every Day’s a Sundae. The ice cream was, as you might have guessed, delicious and portion sizes were amazing.
The girls and Ryan each had a scoop in a cup.
Once again, big girl had Superman ice cream and baby girl wanted chocolate and peanut butter. I think that those two girls have discovered their (for now) favorite flavors.
I decided to splurge and get a sundae. Ummmmm…..it was ridiculous.
It was huge! Delicious and messy and huge. The picture on the right shows how much we were all able to finish before leaving the ice cream shop. I put the cup in the freezer when we got home and was able to have ice cream for dinner the next day, too. 🙂
