The joy of the pajama day – Checklist Update #12

The girls (and I) love pajama days. It’s so nice to be able to just read and play games and watch tv all day without having to run around on a bunch of errands. Recently, the girls were able to have a pajama day – with daddy! That was a big deal (and also something on the checklist). The extra fun part? I was able to run a bunch of errands by myself! Going to Target by myself? Yep. Definitely one of my favorite things to do.

And, it looks like the girls had a good time. (A messy floor is the sign of a good day.)

Summer Checklist – Update #2

The last couple weeks have been pretty busy. We’ve been very go, go, go around here. On that one hand, it’s good to be busy and the girls like to do lots of stuff. But, sometimes, especially with younger kids, you just need to have a day when you do absolutely nothing. That’s what happened last week. Big girl and little girl were both fighting on the couch. Pushing, kicking. Big girl ran off to their bedroom and slammed the door. When she eventually came out, she had a book that she wanted me to read.

She may not always have the words to fully explain how she’s feeling, but I got the gist of it pretty quickly. She was frustrated and I was pretty certain that it stemmed from a lack of sleep. So, as a group, we decided to make the day a pajama day. Couch time, coloring, movies, and pizza delivery for dinner.

Sometimes you just need those kinds of days. Big girl loved pajama day! But now, she wants to have pajama day all of the time…..
